MY BIOGRAPHY JOANNA KANG

My name is Joanna, I'm from China. I spend my childhood and teenage time in there. When I finished my university programs, I got a job in the government office for education. My parents wanted me to have a quiet life, but I liked a new challenge, after three years I gave it up then tried to do business. Finally, I had my own company. I knew when I left my first job my parents would be very angry. But they have always supported me.

I came to Canada two and half years ago. I like living here now. I only have one daughter. She is living in China now, but this summer she is coming to stay with me. I really love and miss her. She is a good and smart girl. She likes studying. She was drawing and playing piano very well. She like going to the park to draw pictures after school. Once she learns new melody, she could play it for me. I wish and pray for her to have a good life.

Since this February I have been learning English in ESL, we have a very good and nice teacher, I was learning a lot of knowledge about English and Canada.

I was thinking when I can speak English really well, I will try to start a small business in Canada. Now I am still looking for chance and a good project, I hope one day I can be successful.

The Buddha at the confluence of three rivers, namely, Min River, Qingyi River, and Dadu River. It is carved into the cliffs of Mt. Lingyun. A local saying describes the Buddha like this: "The Mountain unveils a Buddha, while the Buddha fades into the mountain."

The Dujiangyan Dam, 45km north of Chengdu, is an ancient technological wonder of the country. More than 2000 yers ago, Li Bing(250-200BC)， as a local governor of the Shu State, designed this water control and irrigation dam and organized thousands of local people to complete the project to check the Mingjiang River.For many years the river,flooded the Chengdu agricultural area and local farmers suffered a lot from the water disaster. Due to the success of the project, the dam automatically diverts the Mingjiang River and channels it into irrigation canals. For many years the dam has continued to make the most of the water conservancy works。
