I MESSED UP!

Good Afternoon Students:

Today we're focusing on 4 expressions you can use when mistakes are made, people are not happy, you are sorry and you want to resolve the problem.

To be Sorry for something
To mess up
To hold a grudge against someone
To make up for something

Task 1:

Click on the IDIOMS link to the right of this post. Scroll down to "IDIOM SET: EMOTIONS AND FEELINGS" click on " 1: SORRY IDIOMS. Review the mini lesson and do the quiz at the bottom.

Task 2:

Write about a time that you messed up, you were sorry about it, someone held a grudge against you for it (which means a deep resentment for a large mistake) and you tried to make it up.  (use these expressions in your story). Write 3 paragraphs:
 1. Intro (give context for the story - where are you,  how old etc.
 2. Three to four points - Give details about what happened - first this , then that and  finally this happened.
3. Conclusion - the final result, what you learned, idea for future

PM CLASS: Introduce yourself

Good Afternoon class,

After experimenting with our Blogs and fixing a few of the problems, I hope you are all feeling more comfortable. It is now time to write a full post on YOUR BLOG. Don't forget to write a post title (see very top of the page where you write your post and type in your title) then write your post in the big box underneath.
I would like you to imagine you are sitting across from a new friend drinking cappuccino and introducing yourself.

Introduce yourself and include information about where you came from prior to Canada, why you came to Canada and how your experience has been so far. At the end, talk about your vision for your future in Canada - yes, talk about your kids, but also talk about yourself and how you imagine yourself in 5 years and what you will be doing. Dream big! Canada is too big for small dreams :)

Don't forget to include a photo or a few photos if you wish. You can add them later if you wish remember you can always edit your posts.

Welcome to my English learning Blog:  English in Milton with Marcie.
I will be posting things in here such as announcements, assignments for in and out of class.

I hope you have managed to add this blog to your blog list on your blog. If you have, then you can click on my blog link and immediately be able to read my newest posts.

Now you have some homework: getting used to your blog.
The easiest way to do this is to go on your blog at home, (sign into google/gmail first) and then play around. Make some changes. Write a new post and try adding a photo or 3. Add a new gadget. Add some new blogs to your list and click on them, read what your classmates have written and add a comment. Read your blog posts and look for comments underneath them - respond to these comments!

**Don't forget to always click on the orange button - it might say PUBLISH   or   SAVE   or   UPDATE - but you must click on it to save all the changes that you have made - always! If you don't you will lose all the work you did.**

Have fun learning how to navigate this new blogging world! You will make mistakes but those mistakes will teach you how to do it right the next time. Soon you will be as quick on blogger as you are now on Facebook and Whatsapp :)  It just takes practice.
