My Biography

My name is Lubna. I was born in Baghdad, Iraq to a big family, I have five sisters and one brother, and I am the sixth. My life during the childhood and the teens stages was very quiet and happy. I grew up in Baghdad where I had finished my primary and secondary schools. In 2002, I graduated from the college of engineering as an Electrical Engineer and worked after that for a couple of years in the same university at the engineering department.

In 2004, I got married and left Iraq with my husband to the United Arab Emirates. I was living in the capital city Abu Dhabi for almost eight years. While I was there, I had my two daughters in 2005 and 2006 respectively, and because I was completely overwhelmed by raising them and my other responsibilities as a mother and wife, I did not have the chance to take any further academic studies or to work in my field. After that, my husband had gotten a new job opportunity in Qatar where we moved to there with him. We lived in Qatar for three years, and during that period I had my third child, a baby boy we named him Zaid.

In 2015, my husband and I decided to move permanently to Canada to start a new life over there. In fact, that had been a postponed decision since 2004. Our new life in Canada was progressing smoothly since we landed because we planned for it carefully. We succeeded to enroll our daughters in the education system once we reached, and managed to get our permanent home just in six months of our arrival. Since then, my husband and I gradually started to be more involved and familiar with the Canadian local community and the lifestyle.

From the very early days in Canada, our plan was to enjoy a great level of health and education for our kids and to have a strong foundation for their future, as well as to achieve my valued personal goal to complete my master degree in a well-known university, and I have started the first step by taking the required English classes to pass the English exam test.

Eventually, I would like to say that I have found Canada a very interesting place to live in; it has a wonderful diversity of cultures and seasons. However, I would say that although I am enjoying my new life here, I still miss my life back home, my friends, and my family.

We came to Canada in 2011 when we came it was little bit difficult because every thing was new. For example my little daughter was a year and half. She cried from the first day we arrived to Canada 2 weak or more she wante her milk because she was used to the milk from home we didn't find for her.
And thier sh is
After two weeks finally she got used to the new milk. Before that we're in a hard situation because of her and after that she calmed down.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            And we didn't know about thanks giving day or any holiday but some friends told us about all holidays and after we know how to celebrate. Slowly slowly we celebrated not exactly like Canadian but similar. But now we celebrate like them.                                                                                                                Now we're going to school and our kids are going to school too. We are very happy here in Canada. I hope for my kids a better future and I hope they go to college or university and I hope we can buy a house and a bakery sameer and I and the kids are working in this to. This is all I need for my family.

I moved to Canada in September 28, 2011. I came to Canada because my country is very dangerous and is not safe. When i came to Canada the first year is a little difficult for me and for my family.                                                                                                                            The second years it's very easy to learn about Canada, for example :the weather in my country is very hot but in Canada it's very cold and there is a lot of snow is my favourite think, also there is a lot of of trees.                                                                                   The Halloween :when I came to Canada in September about one month after I came to Canada the Halloween came in October we didn't know how to do for Halloween. The children came to my house and they needed candy's but we don't have any. The next Halloween we know how to do about Halloween.                                                                                                                                                Right now I am very happy because my children are in school and some they are working and some in high school. And I hope we will bay a nice house.                                                                                                            Now we are mixed with Canadian.we now how to celebrated with Canadian it's very easy to celebrate. In my backhome we never have celebrate same Canadian.               I love Canada.

Claudia J. Mbiamany N'tchoreret Biography

My name is Claudia Joelle Mbiamany N'tchoreret, I was born January 1, 1996 in Gabon in a small village named Bifoun in the province of Moyen-Ogooue. My parents were Born there too but in different city.

Nour

My name is Nour, I am from Lebanon. I moved to Canada on
May 12 2016 with my parents and my younger brother and we are
now staying in Milton Ontario.

Many reasons made me move from Lebanon to Canada, mainly
political, social, and economic. The civil war in Syria and the
political unrest in Lebanon and the Middle East in general made
day-to- day life for ordinary people very difficult, unpleasant, and
stressful. People are not able to live their daily life without worry
and anxiety. They cannot plan their future with certainty. That is
why work and work opportunities are very limited and hard to find.
This made people struggle to make a decent living.

I came to Canada in search of work and for a better life which all
people deserve. Canada is the land of opportunity where anyone
can make a decent living in peace; with fairness, tolerance, and no
discrimination; in justice where all are equal in front of the law and
protected by it.

All that is said above, living in Canada will help me get a better
education to provide me with better opportunities for work and
living a life in peace with respect and dignity.
